Professor

Ph. D. in Agricultural Extension, PG specialization in Farm Journalism.

Recipient of ICAR junior and senior fellowship for PG and Ph. D. programmers. Served as Information specialist in Tamilnadu Agricultural Department, as Assistant Professor (Agricultural Extension) in Tamilnadu Agricultural University. Worked in the projects on Science and Technology Transfer to Farm Women, Rice bio-technology sponsored by International Rice Research Institute, Philippines and Rockefeller Foundation. Also served as Honorary consultant to M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation for Bio-village project at Pondicherry. Currently working in projects related to forestry extension and Community forestry.

Important postings have been as – Principal, Forest Rangers’ College, Balaghat; Field Director - Pench, Bandhavgarh and Panna Tiger Reserves; Executive Director (Development), MP MFP Federation; Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) at headquarters and Member Secretary, M.P. State Biodiversity Board.

Visited Philippines to study the working of Fiber Development Authority, Manila. Have been to UK in 1997 for nine months to undertake 3 Certificate Courses from the University of Edinburgh and University of Wolverhampton.

Professional Experience: She has 27 years of work experience with Post
Doctoral research work at the University of California(Berkeley) and
University of Massachusetts (Amherst), USA. She has more than 40
publications in international and national journals/books to her credit and
has conducted projects on valuation, green accounting and payment for
ecosystem services with the support of the World Bank, United Nations
Environment Programme (UNEP), European Union (EU), Department for
International Development (DFID), Asian Development Bank (ADB),
International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), Winrock
International (WII) & various ministries of Govt. of India viz.; Ministry of
Environment & Forests (MoEF), Ministry of Statistics and Programme
Implementation (MoSPI), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Defense (MOD) , National Forestry Commission and the 13th Finance Commission of India. She has also  contributed to the world acclaimed projects on Millennium Ecosystem Assessment and  on The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity.
