Joint Forest Management Resolutions in the States

This Page has been jointly put up by IIFM Bhopal and SPWD New Delhi

It in now almost a decade since Joint Forest Management found roots in India as a principle of forest management. The Indian National Forest Policy of 1988 has put considerable stress on the livelihoods of forest dependent communities and the role they can play in the conserving forests . After the circular of the Indian Ministry of Environment and Forests in 1990 which has been reproduced on the JFM page , many state forest departments in India have passed their own resolutions for joint forest management . This section reproduces these resolutions . Click on a state from the list to read its resolution.
